Pain during a routine can be a sign of many different things at once. It can be a clear sign that something is triggered from a previous injury, a vulnerability, movement compensations. It can also be a sign that you are activating muscles/ moving in a way you are not used to. Pain from the routine is not necessarily a bad thing, and the body will try to create pain to stay in the imbalance it's currently in. Remember - imbalances starts to feel like balance to your body overtime. Continue through the routine as is and if you need a modification for the exercise, we can provide you with 2 steps to do from here- 1) Reduce the range of motion of the exercise. Are you able to keep the movement in your routine but reduce how far you are twisting and/or how much you are moving? I would rather you try to get into the position, even if you are not doing the full extent of the exercise 2) Lower the intensity. Make the movement more gentle. Meet your body where it is. Even if that means you are doing half of the intensity you normally do.These things should help improve the routine and make it more functional! I'd love for you to keep doing the exercises as I'm sure your body needs them. Just do them with much less range of motion and intensity. If an exercise still bothers you, we can remove and replace it with a modification.
